Around 1010: Restaurants
Just down the street we have one of our favorite neighborhood spots… Union Tap & Kitchen. This happening restaurant is the perfect place to take a long lunch (but shh… we didn’t tell you that). With a Cali twist to your favorite pub grub, this spot has something that everyone in your crew will like. And we’d be remiss not to mention that the sweet potato fries are out of this world. Some other Electra favorites include: the baby kale salad, Union burger and avocado toast. How to choose?
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Don’t forget an açai bowl snack somewhere in between. This café is right across the street from Swami’s beach, and they have all your beach foodie cravings: wraps, sandwiches, salads… The portions are large and good for sharing. Ray and Taylor recommend the Tuna wrap, but the ladies of Electra prefer the açai bowls. The outdoor seating is perfect for catching some vitamin D during a lunch break and spotting Electra cruisers on the 101.
This restaurant is lucky enough to share a corridor with the Electra office. Some of our employees call it Conference Room South, but you didn’t hear that from us. They have classic pub food from burgers to tacos to mac ‘n’ cheese to “The Dave Fries,” which are surprisingly tasty. Just don’t ask us how they got their name. Their draft beer changes on a daily basis making it an ideal happy hour spot. The likelihood of finding an Electra employee there in the afternoon? High.
You can’t find a city in San Diego without a handful of taco shops, and Encinitas in no exception! Filiberto’s is one of several Mexican joints in downtown and they’re known for an array of burritos and low prices. The sales and customer service team are the usual suspects, cruising over to grab a breakfast burrito or a quick lunch. Andy recommends the Carne Asada Flying Saucer; it’s tasty and has a crispy flour tortilla shell. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick.
Honey’s is a sister restaurant to Swami’s Cafe. It has perfect breakfast and lunch dishes that make us feel warm, cozy, and certainly satisfied. Inside, there is an impressive illustration of Downtown Encinitas. Kristi recommends the California wrap with a classic side of fries, but it’s hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. We know we can count on Honey’s for a reliable bite.
