Pick your future: Which e-bike is for you?

Pick your future: Which e-bike is for you?

E-bikes... are we right? They seem to be everywhere these days. Sorry not sorry, but they aren’t a passing fad like the fidget spinner. e-bikes are the new world order. As your FOMO is setting in with this new reality, you might begin the first of many Google searches to find one for yourself. Here are some tips to make sure you find the perfect two-wheeled machine for you.

As you start the search for a new e-bike, ask yourself some basic questions to narrow down your options.

  1. What would you like to use this bike for?
    • Commuting, cruising around town, taco grabber, or just looking cool. All are perfectly valid uses for an e-bike.
  2. What is your budget?
    • E-bike prices can range anywhere from $1,500 to 4,000. Not only do you have to consider the final price of an e-bike, but any accessories you might want to buy as well. Check out these e-ssentials!
  3. Do you have a place to store an e-bike securely?
    • Behind a locked door is ideal for keeping your new ride safe. If you need to store it outside, a very good lock and under some cover will do just fine. If you can’t store an e-bike, maybe it’s just not the time for one.

Next, you’ll need to find an e-bike company that you really like. We have done the hard work and already decided for you… Electra Bicycles is the right brand for you! There is an Electra for every person there.

Don’t be overwhelmed by all the numbers on this chart. This is just a reference point for you as you answer the following questions to help narrow down your options.

  1. How important is the weight of your future e-bike?
    • If you have to carry it up and down stairs to store it or if you have to load it up on to a car rack for transport, you might opt for a lighter ride. Check out a Cruiser Go!, Townie Go! 7D, or a Loft Go! 7D EQ
  2. Do you have a need for speed?
    • Our e-bikes have a variety of top speeds. If your’re goal is to get from point A to point B quickly, opt for a Class 2 or 3 e-bike. Check out a Vale Go! 9D EQ S or a Ponto Go!
  3. Are you looking to go the distance?
    • It’s not just a metaphor. If you do have some longer rides planned, a larger battery size can help with that. Check out an e-bike with a 500Wh or larger battery.

Now you can do all the research you want, but the best way to figure out which e-bike is right for you is to go for a test ride. At your local Electra dealer, you can test out and ogle your potential new ride. The staff at the shop can also help you with other questions you might have and help guide your decision. Sometimes it’s best to put all the numbers aside and go with what feels best to you. No matter which Electra you choose, it’s a guarantee that you will have a smile on your face every time you ride it.
