The Name Game: Electra Hour

The Name Game: Electra Hour

It’s no surprise that people love their bikes. They’re more than two wheels, a frame and some handlebars. A bike is an escape… A way to get back into shape… An eco-friendly, traffic-free commute… A bike brings happiness with every ride.

It was even less of a surprise (but still delightful) when we found out that people have been naming their bikes. We have to say, we’re impressed with the creativity and dedication… So much that we want to share some of the names our collective Electra family has come up with. Take a second to feast your eyes on these characters. They’re just as awesome, funky and unique as their owners.

The Smoke Show, Margaux, Kiwi, Zest, Libby, The Green Hornet, Princess Peach, Doris, Poppy, Betty Blue, Carmen, Mallory, Mr. Black, Gigi, Olivia, Lola, Tallulah Poppy, Pinkalicious, Mingo… short for Flamingo, Bertha

Feeling inspired? Us too. If you already have a name for your Electra bike, or now feel the urge to give it one, let us know! Snap a pic of you and your pal, then share with us on social media. Tag #ElectraLove and give your bikes’ name the debut it deserves.

If you’re singing “gimme, gimme more,” we’re going to fill you in on something else. There are some other super, duper dedicated fans around town. These members of the Electra family have taken things to the next level by creating and joining groups on Facebook like “Electra Bike Lovers!” and “People Who Love Their Electra Townies.” They are fully Electra-fan run, and quite VIP. Just kidding, all you have to do is be really good at eating tacos, chillin’ and feel connected to your Electra to join. If you’re feeling qualified, hit them with an invite and get ready to shout from the rooftops how much you love your Electra, get suggestions on how to dress your bike and, most importantly, feel the #ElectraLove.
